The Montana rental agreements are for the exclusive use of landlords and tenants seeking to come to terms over the use of commercial or residential space. The contract is to fully negotiated be each party and when there is an agreement over the conditions such as monthly payment, utilities (cable, electricity, etc.), parking space(s), and other items the landlord will usually require a rental application to be completed. REQUIRED DISCLOSURES

Move-in Checklist (Statute 70-25-206) – Required if the landlord accepts a Security Deposit from the tenant.

Identification (Statute 70-24-301) – Required for the landlord to write in the agreement or as notice the person(s) authorized to manage and enter the property.

LANDLORD-TENANT LAWS

Security Deposit 

Maximum – None.

Returning (Statute 70-25-202) – Must be returned within ten (10) days if no deductions have been made, if deductions are made the landlord has thirty (30) days to pay the tenant.
