Mississippi Sub-Lease Agreement
Download a Mississippi sublease which allows a tenant to get someone else to either rent a portion or the entire space to someone else. The original tenant will have to check with their master agreement to make sure that subletting is not barred from use. If it is, the tenant can usually let the landlord know of their situation and try to obtain written permission.
The original tenant, or sublessor, will be ultimately responsible for everything the subtenant does and does not do. The sublessor will be responsible on behalf of the sublessee for items such as the monthly payment, damage to the premises, and following the terms and conditions stated in the master lease. Therefore the sublessor should review any potential sublessee or roommate with the rental application.
- Residential Leasing Laws – Title 89, Chapter 8
- Lead Paint – Required to be given to the sublessee if the residence was constructed before 1978.
