Mississippi Month-to-Month Lease Agreement
This Mississippi month-to-month lease agreement is structured to give the tenant of the property a worry-free lease by allowing the tenant to leave the property within one (1) month’s notice (89-8-19. Length of tenancy). The landlord must also provide at least thirty (30) days when changing the agreement, for example if the landlord decided to raise the rent.
Even though a tenancy at will is a relaxed landlord-tenant situation, both parties must remain following the Residential Landlord and Tenant Act. Therefore the same eviction laws apply and the landlord is encouraged to elect having the potential lessee fill-in a rental application to ensure their finances are in order to pay a monthly rent on time.
- Lead-Based Paint – Must be used by attaching to the lease if the residence being rented was built before 1978.
- Move-in Checklist – If the landlord accepted a Security Deposit then this form should be filled-in by both parties to mark down any prior damage that exists in the housing unit.
