The Alabama residential lease agreement contract is an agreement that stay’s in affect for twelve (12) months or longer (depending on the deal agreed upon between the landlord and tenant).

Required Landlord Disclosures in Alabama

This law states that landlords must disclose a certain amount of information regarding the manager of the premises before the tenant moves into the property.

    • This law states that a tenant may not withhold rent if repairs have not been made to the rented property, but should write a notice to the landlord that gives the landlord 14 days to repair the property. If repairs have not been made after the allotted time, the tenant may move out or stay and sue the landlord.
  • Lead Based Paint Disclosure Form – If the residential unit was built prior to the year 1978, this form must be signed and attached to the lease agreement to acknowledge the existence of the material.
